Dear parents of 3rd graders,

In these difficult and uncertain times, it is our duty to ensure as much stability to our students as possible. This is why at SIHA we will continue to teach our students remotely. Of course it will be a very different experience and we will need your support to make this an enjoyable and fruitful experience. Your child will need to have basic school supplies handy, a desk surface, an uncluttered and quiet place as well as computer or laptop, printer and of course wifi connection.

Some of the supplies we will use daily besides a pencil and eraser will be:

  • Sharpener
  • Loose leaf paper
  • Colored pencil and/or markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick (No liquid glue for the haggadah),
  •  notebook or loose leaf paper

As you know, the Pesach holiday is coming up and I plan to review and learn new laws and customs about Pesach. The students will be working on a special Haggadah that I hope you picked up on Sunday in school. Please contact me ASAP if you do not have the Pesach package so we can find a way to get it to you.

You will be receiving an email with an invitation to the google meet class.Students should be ready by their desk at 8am.  Students should remain quiet and talk one at a time just like in class so we can understand and follow what is being said throughout the lesson.

The Judaic class will take place Monday through Friday 8am-10am. Please make sure your child had a good breakfast before the day starts and has a water bottle handy to drink as needed during class. As during the regular schedule, they will have a break from 10-10:20 to eat a snack and run around. It will be helpful if they can do any kind of physical activity at home during that time, but surely no video games as they will be spending plenty of time in front of a screen.

Daily schedule will be as follows:

8-8:20: Davening. If you have a siddur at home, please use it, if not, we will have the pages uploaded on the website.

8:20-8:40: Kriah. We will review our Kriah through the kriah worksheets that were put in the black enveloppe together with the Haggadah. Daily kriah homework will be assigned using the temporary Aleph Champ website password alephchamp

8:40-9:00am : Dikduk/Shorashim using the dikduk workbook and Shorashim flashcards.

9:00-9:45: Haggadah lesson

9:45: assign Homework and review question to submit by 10am

Thank you for your cooperation and may we all stay healthy and strong during this trying time.

Mrs Ivry
